Artificial intelligence has already impacted our daily lives, but, now we will start to see it in the workplace as well. We don’t know what it will look like but one thing’s for sure, it will be disruptive. This doesn’t mean AI is a bad thing; it is a beneficial tool that can help us do our jobs better. Wired revealed an interesting prediction by Gartner: The global research and advisory firm believes by 2020 AI will create more jobs rather than removing them. Here are a few examples of AI in the office.

Improving Work: Overall AI in the workplace will improve how we get our jobs done. While AI takes care of dull and boring tasks, employees will have the ability to focus on higher-level work. The productivity gains are insurmountable, giving us all the opportunity to bring more creative ideas to special projects and other collaborative efforts. Chatbots currently help customers answer basic questions they have, and other AI software helps to protect secure data in the healthcare and finance industries. While AI is completing those basic functions employees are able to worry about greater issues.

Data and Analytics: New AI technology will help companies improve how they gather and analyze data. Real-time insights thanks to AI give employees the tools they need to meet consumer expectations in today’s fast-moving world. These insights come from streaming and edge analytics; it allows workers to provide service to customers, patients, and other consumers quickly.

Competition: Analytics provided by AI allows companies to get ahead of the competition by providing more efficient and streamlined services. C-suite executives will be able to look at overall trends and identify what’s working and what’s not. This allows executives to develop cutting-edge strategy that could advance operations internally and externally. Insights pulled from AI will help companies improve the services they offer, setting themselves apart from other competing companies.

There’s no doubt that we will see AI break into everyday workplace operations. For this advanced technology to succeed executives will need to plan thoroughly and take into consideration what their company needs for AI to work in their office. Overall, AI will help companies to improve work, gather data, and advance internal and external operations.
